Despite difficult economic conditions, characterized by inflationary pressures, disruptions in supply chains, strong distortions in the foreign exchange markets, as well as geopolitical tensions, Stadler Rail achieved a strong increase in its order intake. On December 13, the company announced a contract up to 2030 for a total of EUR 2.3 billion with KTZ, the Kazakhstan railways. Stadler Rail will have to deliver sleeper passenger carriages as well as generator passenger carriages capable of operating on electrified or non-electrified networks. Furthermore, this contract, which also includes technology transfer agreements and the acquisition of a production plant in Astana, allows Stadler Rail to establish itself in a member country of the Community of Independent States, and to develop its presence in this large market.
