Georg Fischer has published the details of his takeover offer for the Finnish company Uponor, which specializes in the manufacture of pipe systems for the transport of water and other liquids. Uponor’s board of directors is in favor of this transaction, which values the Finnish company at 2.2 billion euros. The acquisition is of strategic interest to Georg Fisher and brings the Schaffhausen-based group closer to its growth objectives for 2025. The new entity will become a leader in the field of flow and water management solutions, with a combined turnover of 3.6 billion euros. The two companies are complementary in terms of products, geographical presence and share a similar corporate culture. The water management sector benefits from a favorable fundamental trend due to the growing need for drinking water and efficient indoor climate management.
