In 2021, the group achieved the strongest revenue growth since its IPO in 1999, despite a difficult operating environment. Sales amounted to CHF 3,460 million, i.e., 15.9% better than in 2020. Admittedly, this performance is partly explained by positive base effects and by the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the trend of renovation. In addition, in the fourth quarter, wholesalers built up larger inventories to deal with logistical problems and to anticipate price increases. However, Geberit also gained market share in this context. The group is therefore coming out of the crisis stronger and expects an EBITDA margin of around 31% for the 2021 financial year. These elements confirm the resilience of Geberit’s business model and endorse its cautious approach to risk management.
