IAM Cycling
Having already taken an excellent 4th place the day before in the Tour du Finistère, Rémi Cusin showed again how strong his form is racing over the stony paths of the Tro-Bro Léon.
The French IAM Cycling rider succeeded in positioning himself in the right breakaway comprised of 17 men. After spending the day working at the front of affairs, Cusin still found the resources to nab 5th place in the race won by Francis Mourey ahead of Johan Le Bon and Anthony Geslin (all of FDJ).
Manager and acting directeur sportif, Serge Beucherie was full of praise for his riders.
Rémi really distinguished himself this weekend. He showed his best qualities, even if there was little he could do in the end with FDJ dictating the race. In addition to that, our young guys like Marcel Aregger, Sébastien Reichenbach and Patrick Schelling worked very hard for the team. And Sébastien Hinault had positioned himself well, though he was forced to dismount right at the moment when the decisive attack went away. But after having suffered through the terrible weather yesterday during the Tour du Finistère, Johann Tschopp was slightly feverish, so did not finish today as a precaution. His goal is still to be in top condition for the Tour of Romandie, so we did not want to take any risks with him today.
