Talent will not wait. And IAM Cycling is committed to persist in its goal to help girls and boys, who are passionate about cycling, get a leg up in the sport. Consequently, the Swiss professional team and its sponsor, IAMFUNDS.CH are proud to sponsor the 2nd edition of the IAM Junior Challenge which will be organized by the Sprinter Club Lignon, La Classique Genevoise, and Le Défi Boscardin.
True to his philosophy and his commitment towards fostering the youth of Swiss cycling, Michel Thétaz decided two years ago that he would help cycling clubs in their endeavors to promote cycling events for girls and boys between the ages of 9 and 16. Their slogan, You are our future, join the IAM Junior Challenge tells the whole story.
The various events will encourage participates to compete against each other, allowing them to monitor their progress, and perhaps in a few years even follow in the footsteps of Jonathan Fumeaux, Sébastien Reichenbach, and Simon Pellaud by joining the professional ranks.
Four events are scheduled throughout the season: Sunday, April 26th a prologue (10.00 am 5.00 pm) will be held at the Geneva Airport, which will be followed by the first stage scheduled for May 23rd under the direction of the Sprinter Club Lignon. The second stage will be held on June 21st and run by La Classique Genevoise. Le Défi Boscardin will organize the final round to be held on Saturday, September 26th.
An extraordinary event with exceptional participants. IAM Cycling understands that on April 26th, Martin Elmiger along with his teammates Matthias Brändle, Jonathan Fumeaux, Stef Clement, and Marcel Wyss will be pleased to be present at the Prologue.
The Swiss national road race champion and his teammates, along with Michel Thétaz, will take part in a 20 kilometer ride (start 1.00 pm) around the Geneva countryside with the participants of the IAM Junior Challenge as well as all fans, friends, and family wishing to join the group.
