THE EXCLIMATION
From Sondre Holst Enger, who took an impressive third place in the 16th stage of the Tour de France: I am so happy with this podium place!
THE EXPLANATION
Again, as given by Sondre Holst Enger. The guys did an amazing job for me in the final. I found myself in an ideal position at the point where I had to launch my sprint. And not much was missing in order to score another success after Jarlinson Pantano won the stage in Culoz.
THE FACT OF THE DAY
The sprint royal that had been expected by the thousands of spectators gathered near the finish line did not disappoint. Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) won the stage by a very narrow margin ahead of Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) and Sondre Holst Enger (IAM Cycling).
THE ANALYSIS
According to Rik Verbrugghe, sports manager for IAM Cycling. We succeeded in having a great finale on our home turf. And our sprinter Sondre Holst Enger, who was perfectly supported by his teammates, succeeded himself in matching the worlds best. At just 22, he is a very promising rider because when you can manage to stay in the top ten of the peloton in the last five kilometers of a race like this, then you have undeniable qualities.
THE PAYOFF
2800. In euros, that is the amount that Sondre Holst Enger earned for his fantastic third place during the 16th stage from Moirans-en-Montagne to Bern.
THE MENU FOR THE DAY
The IAM Cycling riders will have a good ride of around an hour during the second rest day of the Tour de France before looking ahead to tackling the final stretch into Paris.
