Michel Thétaz, founder of IAM Cycling and CEO of IAM SA (IAM Investment Funds), is pleased to see the arrival of the Tour of Romandie at the same time as the arrival of spring.

Under the sun in Liège, and shortly before he can send his protégés to start the final Ardennes Classic, Thétaz casts his mind forward a few days to speak briefly about the organizers of the tour around Romandie, the French speaking region of Switzerland.

“They did everything right. The departure is scheduled for Tuesday in the Val de Bagnes in a valley near the Val Ferret, which is my childhood home, and it will finish in Geneva on Sunday, practically right in front of my office.”

Still waiting for word of their potential participation in the Tour de France, Michel Thétaz wants to put a more serious emphasis on the sporting aspect of the team.

“The whole team is very motivated, as we have been since January 1st.  The morale is high even if losing Thomas Lövkvist to injury was not exactly the best thing for us.  But we will rise to the occasion offered us by the Tour of Romandie with Johann Tschopp trusted as our sole leader.  In addition to that, I’d like to note that the Valais region is a true cradle of cycling, especially for our team since no fewer than three of our riders, namely Sébastien Reichenbach and Jonathan Fumeaux as well as Johann will be at the start in Châble and come from the region.”
