Kristof Goddaerts heavy fall at the end of the 1st stage of Four Days of Dunkirk has in fact resulted in heavy consequences.
The IAM Cycling rider spent much of Wednesday night at the clinic in Lesquin.
The doctors were mostly concerned with a deep wound to his right knee. After examining the injury, they decided 12 stitches were necessary. An x-ray of his right foot also revealed a non-displaced fracture of his first toe. Goddaert, accompanied by a family member, returned to his home in Belgium late Wednesday evening. It will now be necessary for him to take a lay off from the bike for 15 days.
#StayStrong Kristof and see you soon even stronger!
