IAM Cycling
Racing under the sun and an agreeable temperature (20 degrees F), the IAM Cycling team did not manage to arrive in a position to impact the finish at the Boucles de lAulne.
The victory went to Matthieu Ladagnous (FDJ) after he won the sprint from a reduced pack of 15 riders.
The best placed IAM Cycling rider was Marcel Aregger, who slipped himself into the small elite group and secured a promising 11th place.
Nevertheless, the teams Directeur Sportif in Brittany, Eddy Seigneur, was well pleased with his protégés.
We had a good race even if we do feel some disappointment in not winning today. Everything was possible in the finale, and in spite of his efforts Sébastien Hinault was unable to find the opening; he did still manage to win the sprint for the main peloton, finishing 19th for the day. He was too closely watched this year since he had taken the victory last year. In the course of the race, we had to drive the chase since Saramotins was not able to keep pace with the days main break. And then we were fighting against the current. I am happy with all the guys, including Kevyn Ista who was able to hold his own for 140 kilometers. He certainly lived up to all expectations on his first weekend back in competition.
