IAM Cycling
For their first participation in their final stage race of their inaugural season, IAM Cycling will present itself in full racing regalia on the roads of Her Majesty. For the Swiss Pro Continental team to be selected for the Tour of Britain proves to be a sign of performance according to the team manager Serge Beucherie.
We had a poor weekend in Brussels and Fourmies. But that sort of thing happens to all teams at least once in a season. We cannot change it, but we can at least understand it.
Now looking forward, IAM Cycling plans to influence the race in Britain as it has always done with each stage race it has entered, including the Tours of Qatar, Oman, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Denmark and Portugal.
Beucherie elaborates on their goals with great conviction and his usual enthusiasm. Matteo Pelucchi has the legs to play a leading role in the sprints. Even Heinrich Haussler, though he is not yet 100%, can surprise his competitors at any time. Then for a stab at the overall classification, we can rely on Martin Elmiger, the recent winner of the Tour du Limousin, Thomas Löfkvist, who won the Tour of the Mediterranean for us in the spring, as well as Sébastien Reichenbach and Marcel Wyss, both of whom have been consistently strong this season. We will adapt our strategy every day according to the race situation, but there is no reason to have any complexes about our chances even in the face of competition like team Sky with Wiggins. We are coming to Britain with the intention of getting results and not simply to give our guys some training days to prepare for the Worlds in Florence.
